Phone interviews are the gateway to a face-to-face interview.

It’s becoming more common for companies to use a phone screen to narrow down their list of candidates they want to interview in person. This means you have to be able to impress them over the phone.

We know, we know… “impress them over the phone!?” How are you supposed to do that? A phone call isn’t very personable, but you need to give it your all to make sure you ace that interview.

So what should you do to prepare? We always suggest practicing answering common interview questions and keeping a cheat sheet in front of you, but there’s more. Here are three surprising tips to help you perfect your next phone interview.

We’ve talked about spraying & praying here in the newsletter before. And if you haven’t heard us talk about it, you will now. Spraying & praying refers to a (bad) type of job search method where the job seeker applies to just about every job that they come across. Why is this method a terrible idea? Because it’s a waste of your time! Majority of those jobs will have an ATS throw your resume right out the window. Here’s what you need to be avoiding in your job search and what you should be doing.

What Would You Do? Below is a work story that isn't true, but it could be! Read this workplace dilemma and then share what YOU would do by clicking the link and submitting your advice. We'd love to hear your response, and may even feature it in the newsletter!

Pedro has a 9-to-5 job that he can do in his sleep. His real passion is his start-up side hustle, but it doesn’t make enough money yet for him to quit. He needs to invest more in it which is going to take time given his current income. A recruiter just contacted him about a job doing what he does now that would pay him 50% more. But it would also mean more hours. It would give him the extra money he needs to grow his side hustle into a full-time gig, but he’s worried he’ll be too tired to do it.

What should he do? Click HERE to respond.

Yesterday we showed you kitchen organization products, now it's time to organize your desk, both on the surface and in the drawers too!

Yes, yes it is.

Software testing is a crucial part of the implementation process for any new software. While it may seem annoying at times, it’s important the software works as intended and meets its requirements. You’ll want to identify any bugs or errors before it reaches the consumer. If you don’t go through with testing you will potentially be providing software that’s unreliable and not functional.

Don’t gamble your chances and skip software testing, you will thank us later!
