Staffing Stories (Episode 1). We hope this gives you a good laugh!
Want to get more money out of a job interview? Then this is what you need to say.
Have you ever thought about how your body language is affecting your interview success?
When you walk into a room, before you have even said anything, you are making an impression on those who are watching. Before a single word has come out of your mouth, people have created an opinion about you. Whether it be good or bad, your body language has made the first impression and that’s what’s going to stick with people.
During a job interview, your body language is just as important as the answers you give to questions you are asked. Hand shakes, eye contact, head bobbing, hair twirling, foot shaking, posture, and tone are just a few aspects you should be aware of during an interview. While some of our body language occurs unconsciously, it’s still a good idea to be aware of it and think about how it might be perceived by someone else.
For most aspects of body language, the hardest part is finding the right balance. For example: It’s important to be confident in yourself to avoid looking insecure, but you also want to make sure you aren’t too confident or you’ll look cocky. You should nod your head in agreement to show you are engaged, but don’t nod it too often or you will look like a bobblehead. Make eye contact with the interviewer, but avoid constantly staring them in the eyes, it might freak them out.
To help you find this balance in your body language, here are a list of things you should consider before your next interview.
Here’s what’s going on in the news (related to careers of course):
Bumble is laying off 350 employees.
How Walmart plans to fill 100,000 jobs.
Unionized Starbucks workers will receive pay hikes.

5 Reasons To Make SurveyJunkie Your Next Side Hustle
There are several reasons why someone might choose to have a side hustle as an online survey taker for SurveyJunkie. Here are five possible reasons:
1. Flexibility: Online survey taking allows for flexibility in terms of working hours. As a survey taker, you can typically choose when and where you want to complete surveys. This flexibility is especially beneficial for individuals who have other commitments such as a full-time job, studies, or family responsibilities.
2. Extra Income: One of the primary motivations for having a side hustle is to earn additional income. SurveyJunkie offers compensation to survey takers for completing surveys. While the income may vary depending on factors like survey length and complexity, it can be a convenient way to supplement your regular income or save up for specific goals.
3. Low Entry Barrier: Starting as an online survey taker usually has a low barrier to entry. SurveyJunkie, for example, allows individuals to sign up easily and start taking surveys without requiring specialized skills or experience. This accessibility makes it an attractive option for people looking to earn money without needing extensive training or qualifications.
4. Work from Anywhere: Online survey taking provides the opportunity to work from anywhere with an internet connection. Whether you prefer to work from the comfort of your home, a coffee shop, or while traveling, as long as you have access to the internet, you can take surveys and earn money. This flexibility can be particularly appealing for digital nomads or individuals seeking location-independent work.
5. Variety and Engagement: Participating in online surveys exposes you to a range of topics and provides an opportunity to share your opinions. This can be interesting and engaging for individuals who enjoy expressing their thoughts, providing feedback, or learning about different subjects. It can also serve as a way to stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and new products or services.

In the video above, J.T. explains that people who spend time doing interview prep not only get the job, but are offered more money. You’ve probably heard us talk about your UVA or unique value add before. We all have skills, but we’re not special because of that. What makes you unique is your ability to convey how you will use those skills to make or save a company enough money to justify the cost of hiring you. When you effectively communicate your UVA during an interview, you will quickly become the one the employer wants.
How does this get me more money? If you are an employers first pick, you hold the reigns, you’re in the driver’s seat now and it sets you up to negotiate a higher salary. They are not going to want to lose their top choice, so they will pay you that higher salary to get you to say “yes”.
What do I need to do to up my interview prep and understand my UVA? First you need to understand your workplace personas, AKA how you like to create value in the workplace. The best way to do this is to take the Career Decoder Quiz (it’s free) and record your top 3 personas.
Next, you should follow the steps of the exercise J.T. explains in the above video (around minute 2:57). It will explain how you have created value in the past with your real work experiences. This will serve as a guide for you to be able to convey your UVA during job interviews.
Understanding your UVA is a total game changer, and if you are willing to put in the work, you will see amazing results!
