Blow are three stories about interview experiences. However, two of the stories are true and one is a lie. Can you figure out which one we made up?
Story #1: Years ago, when I was getting ready to graduate, I was invited to interview at a bio-tech firm. When I was brought in to meet a VP of the company, he stood, sneezed into his bare hands and then extended his hand to me; which, since I was job-seeking, I shook. I then kept my right hand dangling off the edge of my chair taking care not to touch anything. I felt like I was on āCandid Camera.' His desk was covered with a tissue box, cold medicine, cough drops and other sick paraphernalia. I quite literally ran from his office at the end of the interview to the ladies room to wash my hands!!!
Story #2: At one of my first interviews for my first job after college, I walked into the room where I was being interviewed and it smelled bad. I thought maybe someone had eaten a smelly lunch or something before I came in. I greeted the hiring manager and got over the smell pretty quickly. The interview went really well, but as both the hiring manager and I got up at the end to shake hands, he let out a fart. At first I thought there was no way he did that, but then he said excuse me and I awkwardly walked out trying not to laugh. No wonder why the room smelled so bad when I walked in. I wasnāt offered the job, which was okay because I think if I had another interaction with that hiring manager it would have been real weird.
Story #3: I had to face an interview board consisting of around 8 people seated on a long desk. Behind them the wall was just glass and as it was morning time, the sun shone brightly through the glass. As I was seated facing the window during the interview, my eyes started to get watery from all the bright light that I was facing. I tried my best to resist it but now it had started showing and then the interviewer asked me if I was crying and then I explained and wiped my ātears'.

As seen on JT: Work It DAILYās CEO JT OāDonnell loves wearing Peepers reading glasses (Donāt believe us? Watch this). Not only are they are stylish and add the perfect touch to any outfit, but the blue light blocking aspect prevents headaches after starting at a computer screen all day. Itās a win-win. (P.S. they also make blue light only glasses if you donāt need readers)
Just because you are an executive with experience doesnāt mean that itās easy to secure a new job.
Experience is no issue for an executive trying to find a job, the problem these job seekers may face is how to arrange their experience on their resume. Often executives donāt know what information would be best to include to show employers that they are the best fit. Instead, their resume is a jumble of mishmash information that doesnāt make sense to the employer.
Weāve put together some tips to help you write an organized and strategic executive resume, so you can impress every employer who reads it.
