Meme Of The Day
Fishing Isn't Just a Weekend Hobby. It's Your New LinkedIn Strategy.

Let me ask you something. If you dropped a line in the water with no bait on it, would you expect to catch anything? Of course not. So why are you doing the exact same thing on LinkedIn and wondering why no recruiters are reaching out?
I get this question all the time: "JT, I've been applying to jobs for weeks, and I haven't heard a peep from a single recruiter. What am I doing wrong?" And nine times out of ten, the answer is simple. You're not fishing. Or at least, you're not fishing correctly.
Here's the Thing About the Pond You're Swimming In
LinkedIn has over 1.3 billion profiles on it. That is a massive pond. And recruiters aren't scrolling through it one profile at a time hoping to stumble on you. They're using a search tool that lets them talk to an AI assistant and describe exactly who they're looking for. It sorts through that enormous pond and pulls out the people who match.
So here's my question for you. If a recruiter is searching for someone with your exact skill set, right this second, would they find you? Or are you invisible in that pond because you're not showing up as active, engaged, and clearly positioned for the role you want?
You Need to Think Like a Fly Fisherman
I love this analogy because it's so visual. Think about fly fishing for a second. Fishermen don't just throw any old hook in the water. They spend time crafting lures, carefully and thoughtfully, all designed to catch a very specific fish's attention. That is exactly what your LinkedIn posts need to be doing.
The algorithm rewards people who are active in the pond, so every post you put up is like a lure. You already have everything you need to build a great one: you know what kind of job you want, you know the skills that make you valuable, and you know the results you've delivered. Put those pieces together the right way, and you've got a lure that gets recruiters knocking on your inbox instead of you knocking on theirs.
Stop chasing job postings and start reeling recruiters in.
So, How Do You Actually Build the Lure?
This is where most job seekers get stuck. They know they should be posting, but they don't know what to post or how to structure it so it actually gets noticed by the right people. I don't want you guessing at this. I want you to see exactly what works, because I've watched it work.
That's why I put together a completely free resource that walks you through the anatomy of the ideal LinkedIn post to attract a recruiter's attention. It's a short video, under five minutes, and I use a real example from one of my own clients who landed an incredible new job using this exact approach. You can find it here.
And If You Want a Little More Support, I’ve Got Just the Thing
For those of you who want more than the free resource, who want someone telling you what to post next, I built something for you too. It's called the LinkedIn Recruiter Attraction Plan, and it's exactly what it sounds like. I review your resume, your LinkedIn profile, and the types of jobs you're going after, and I map out the next 20 posts you should be putting up to lure recruiters in.
An entire plan built specifically for you!
The Bottom Line
You don't need to overhaul your entire job search to start getting noticed. You need the right lure in the water. Once you understand what recruiters are actually searching for and how to position yourself to match it, this stops feeling like a mystery and starts feeling like something you can actually control.
So go check out the free video. Then, if you're ready to go all in, take a look at the LinkedIn Recruiter Attraction Plan. Either way, it's time to stop waiting by the phone and start fishing the right way.
Go get ‘em!
