Your ROI is the benefit companies get when they hire you, and if you haven’t focused in on it, then you job search might last a long time.

There are a lot of different things that need to be included on a resume, like job titles, places of employment, and education. But how do you make that information stand out?

Many job seekers believe recruiters will be able to connect the dots between their jobs, experiences, and education. Job seekers think recruiters will “get” their ROI just by looking at their resume, however, most of the time recruiters don’t have the time to connect the dots.

That being said, if you’ve made a significant difference at a past employer, you should make sure you clearly show that on your resume. Otherwise, it might get overlooked, and your chances at landing a job decrease.

As you write your resume, consider using quantifiable measures of your performance to emphasize your ROI, so you can stand out to recruiters.

As J.T. mentioned in the above video, the reason why her clients aren’t getting past the final interview is because they are pulling back. They don’t want to brag and over sell themselves in this last interview. However, in their efforts to not overdo it, they come across as less confident.

The problem is they had more confidence in 1st and 2nd interviews, but in final interview they seem less confident in themselves, which makes the hiring manager skeptical. While we want job seekers to have confidence, we also don’t want them to be cocky.
