Resume writing can be tricky, but with these tips it doesnā€™t have to be.

When it comes to your resume, there are some things you definitely need on it, and some things you definitely donā€™t.

If you are new to resume writing, or maybe havenā€™t done it in a long time, it can be hard to figure out what is helping and what is hurting you. Many job seekers include things on their resume that prevent them from getting an interview. They also fail to include important information that could help them see success in their job search.

If you are asking yourself, ā€œDo I need this on my resume?ā€ take some time to look at this list of things job seekers should and should not include on their resume.

career success

Do you go above and beyond at work?

There are two types of people when it comes to their job. The first type of person only does the work that is required of them. They stick to what they know and donā€™t do too much more. The second type of worker excels at their requirements and even goes above and beyond. They contribute to the success of the company in any possible way they can.

There is only a small percentage of workers who fall into the second category. If you are happy with your job and your position at the company, you donā€™t need to be the second type of worker.

However, if you do want advance in your company and move up the ladder, you will need to become someone who fits in the ā€œabove and beyondā€ category. You need to stand out to your employer.

Here are 10 effective ways you can stand out at work.
