Don’t let silly mistakes get in the way of your cover letter being seen by employers!

You’ve just finished writing your first disruptive cover letter, now it’s time to send it out to recruiters and hiring managers. But what’s the right way to send it to them? How do you make sure they will read it?

Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for job seekers to write amazing cover letters, only for them to not be seen because the employer can’t open the file or the file gets lost at the bottom of an email chain. The best way to prevent this from happening is sending your document as a PDF. When you utilize PDF format, you ensure that everyone can open and see your cover letter. It also prevents the formatting of your cover letter from being screwed up (Think maintaining the spacing, alignment, and page length).

Keep reading to learn the other two tips for successfully sending your cover letter to employers.

2 Ways To Protect Yourself From Losing Your Job To AI! 🤖

5 Reasons To Make SurveyJunkie Your Next Side Hustle

There are several reasons why someone might choose to have a side hustle as an online survey taker for SurveyJunkie. Here are five possible reasons:

1. Flexibility: Online survey taking allows for flexibility in terms of working hours. As a survey taker, you can typically choose when and where you want to complete surveys. This flexibility is especially beneficial for individuals who have other commitments such as a full-time job, studies, or family responsibilities.

2. Extra Income: One of the primary motivations for having a side hustle is to earn additional income. SurveyJunkie offers compensation to survey takers for completing surveys. While the income may vary depending on factors like survey length and complexity, it can be a convenient way to supplement your regular income or save up for specific goals.

3. Low Entry Barrier: Starting as an online survey taker usually has a low barrier to entry. SurveyJunkie, for example, allows individuals to sign up easily and start taking surveys without requiring specialized skills or experience. This accessibility makes it an attractive option for people looking to earn money without needing extensive training or qualifications.

4. Work from Anywhere: Online survey taking provides the opportunity to work from anywhere with an internet connection. Whether you prefer to work from the comfort of your home, a coffee shop, or while traveling, as long as you have access to the internet, you can take surveys and earn money. This flexibility can be particularly appealing for digital nomads or individuals seeking location-independent work.

5. Variety and Engagement: Participating in online surveys exposes you to a range of topics and provides an opportunity to share your opinions. This can be interesting and engaging for individuals who enjoy expressing their thoughts, providing feedback, or learning about different subjects. It can also serve as a way to stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and new products or services.

In the video above, J.T. shares a job search tip to help you get in touch with hiring managers and recruiters, and it’s easier than you might think.

If you come across multiple jobs at the same company that you would like to apply for, refrain from applying to all of them right way. Do this instead:

Find the hiring manager, recruiter, or even just an employee at the company on LinkedIn and send them a connection request (Tip: make sure your LinkedIn profile is in tip-top shape before you send the request).

Once someone has accepted the request, send them a message stating that you have a quick question about a job opening at their company. When they respond, ask them if it is okay to apply to all the jobs you are interested in or if you should only apply to one.

You might be thinking, ”Why does this matter?”

Because your LinkedIn profile (AKA your virtual resume) will be seen by a person that is apart of the hiring team! If you connected with an employee, they most likely won’t know how to answer your question and will send your profile over to the hiring manager or recruiter, so they can help you out.

Getting your foot in the door with employers you want to work for is a great way to boost your chances at being hired. You’re putting in the effort to be seen and noticed by an employer, and they will take note of that.

Want to know the best part? This tip can work even if there is only one job opening you are interested in. Instead of asking a question about how you should apply, you can send your connection story or even ask an employee how they got hired at the company. There are so many ways you can use LinkedIn and personal connections to stand out in this crazy job search market.
