Whatever it may be, here are some resources to help out your job search, so it stops failing you:

Below are three stories about job experiences, however, two are true and one is a lie. Can you figure out which story we made up?

Story #1: “When I was working at an embassy, I had a colleague who was convinced I was a Russian spy. We sat across from each other, so I would often catch her looking at me from behind her laptop screen. She also wouldn’t let me touch the mail or go into specific areas of the embassy. She wouldn’t even accept food from me. In fact, when my mother sent me cupcakes for my name day, she demanded that they be X-rayed to see if there was anything inside.”

Story #2: “Years ago I worked for a tech company that loved to brag about how laid back and hip it was. We had the standard industry perks like snacks and drinks, and a pool table in the kitchen. The CEO, convinced that employees were wasting time enjoying these benefits, installed a hidden camera in the kitchen and began sending out company-wide emails calling out individual employees for “consuming more than their fair share” of snacks or drinks, or spending too much time at the pool table.”

Story #3: “I started a new job on a Monday. The first weekend after I started, my boyfriend at the time (now husband) proposed to me. When I went into the office the following Monday, I shared the good news with my boss and teammates. Instead of being happy for me, they all seemed upset. I went to the coworker that had trained me the first week and asked if I said something wrong. She explained that the previous person I replaced had gotten engaged and was terrible to work with because she spent a lot of time during the day planning her wedding. She eventually left, right after she got back from her honeymoon. And people were so glad to get rid of her an hire someone new. Which was me. I could see why they were disappointed but thought it was strange they assumed I'd do the same thing. Within a month of being there, I decide to quit. People were so cold to me that it was clear they'd never be friendly and I couldn't stand working in that type of environment. I found out recently when someone did a reference check on my at that employer that they are telling people I was fired for poor performance. Now I'm trying to work with a lawyer to make them stop saying that.”

Which story is the lie?
